My Work Lunch
in my company 80% of the employees are production workers, there are only 9 of us in the office. two are doing sales and marketing so they eat out. three brought their own lunch. two take heavy breakfast and thus skip lunch most of the time. one went home for mama cook. so left me. having no regular lunch companion, once in a while will join my fren working nearby, but most of the time have to settle it myself.
so out of the 5 full working days, i'm forced to bring my own lunch whenever i remember, and if i wake up early enuf to heat the wok. at other times, i'll simply settle it by biscuits or oat meals in the office... or get sth from the food van (call that 'pop pop car' when i'm a kid) that visit our company every morning during our 15mins morning tea break. quite a variety of kuih muih on display, there are laksa, nasi lemak, chicken rice and fried noodles too. oso selling separate side dish such as fried egg, chicken wing, hot dogs, etc. everything packed in small portion, at economical cost for the production workers. nasi lemak is my favourite but it's out of stock most of the time. sometime i have to miss the tea break when i get too bz with my work.
that's how i went thru all these years. getting very bored but still, not being able to make a change. have tried to surf online seeking some ideas for work lunch with very simple and easy preparation. but seem like there's no such of my so-called simple and easy recipe. coz when i say simple and easy, it means really very simple and easy. coz i'm juz too stpd to work in the kitchen. there r times when i shop for all the ingredients and have them all on the table ready to start working, but after staring at them for a while, i kept them all back to the fridge. u dun believe that rite? well, i know it sounds ridiculous and u may think that i'm exagerating my stpdity... i hope i am!
i've owes envied those of my frens who can talk about home cook and baking... and it's difficult for me to absorb any knowledge from them when i have this limitation of 'short term memory'. i never remember wat they've said after a while...
so.. i think a hardcopy of the memory can help better. ;)
perhaps i should get myself one of this:

and i still doubt if i'm able to follow.
so, how about this...

if there's any in the bookstore.

Wow! The final picture, at first I thought it's a real book. You photoshopped that?
Hey Eve, I always cook my lunch and dinner at the night before and eat them in my workplace by just heating them up in the microwave. What I'll do is just to put all the colorful veges with one or 2 types of meat and let them either boil by themselves or stir fry for a while. For a final touch, I'll just add different seasonings to make my daily food taste change a bit. When my cooking mood is good, I'll make more effort in cooking. But most of the time I'll just let the wok heat the food while I take the waiting time to do my exercise + watch TV. Kill 3 birds with one stone. :P
Here, they have a lot of frozen meals here too. Can be very cheap when promotion is on. All you have to do is to put this forzen food inside microwave to heat for a few min and the meal is ready to eat. They have portion as small as 250 cal per pack until portion for big eater like 1 pound. *gosh* It is very convenient which sometimes I eat them too when I am too tired or lazy to cook. However, eat frequently, I'll get sick of it.
But hor, I thought Kuching so many convenient place for just Ta Pau and eat. Not near your workplace?
Heeee... sorry for long comment. I just cannot stop talking when concerning food. :P

i don't believe you can't cook... u got bitten by the lazy bug ;p
i think the most convenient way to get your lunch is thru the food van. So make it a point to go to the food van every day.. don't glue to your monitor all day long.
